R350 Grant Appeal For July 2023: How To Do It

SASSA, the South African Social Security Agency, provides financial assistance to vulnerable individuals through social grants. While unemployed or earning minimal income, these grants allow beneficiaries to purchase basic goods and services.

Depending on their needs, grants are awarded to beneficiaries.

Those older than 60 years old who require financial assistance can apply for the older persons grant. Children are also supported by Sassa through several grants.

Those living with disabilities are dependent upon disability grants for support. Beneficiaries receiving social grants receive a grant in aid to cover the costs of full-time care; the grant itself is meant to cover the expenses of a caregiver.

Sassa distributes several social grants to individual recipients.

Applicants may apply to Sassa for grants in the following categories: Older Person grant, Disability grant, Veterans’ grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top Up, Grant-in-aid, and SRD grant (also known as the R350 grant).

Applicants must ensure they meet all the eligibility criteria before applying for a grant. Additionally, they will have to submit documentation supporting their grant application.

Occasionally, a grant application will be rejected, but Sassa offers another chance for applicants by allowing them to appeal.

SSSA will inform you in writing of the outcome of your application. During the grant application process, Sassa must provide reasons for your unsuccessful application.

In an appeal, you request that Sassa reconsiders your application if it has already been rejected. You may be able to receive funding if Sassa approves your appeal.

It is important for appeal applicants to remember that every month their grant application was rejected they must submit an R350 grant appeal.

Applicants of grants may appeal Sassa’s decision to reject their grants by writing to the Minister of Social Development informing him of their disagreement. An unsuccessful grant applicant can appeal their grant decision by contacting the Sassa office for advise.

Final Thoughts

Grant appeals should be submitted within 90 days of receiving notification about the outcome of your application.

If your grant application is approved, you will receive payment as soon as the application is received. A grant application is considered to have been submitted on the day you submitted all the required supporting documents.
